 MANILA, Philippines – (UPDATED) More flight cancellations are announced as Typhoon Ruby (international name: Hagupit) lashes parts of the country.


For Monday, December 8, AirAsia Philippines and AirAsia Zest cancelled all their domestic and international flights, the budget carrier announced as of 4 pm of Saturday, December 6.


Other local airlines have not issued further flight cancellations for Monday. (Check the list of cancelled flights on Sunday, December 7, here).


The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines Operations and Rescue Coordination Center (CAAP Operations) also announced as of 9 am Sunday via its Twitter account that the following airports are closed:








Typhoon Ruby slightly weakened hours before it was to make landfall in the vicinity of Masbate on Sunday morning.


The state weather bureau said Typhoon Ruby remains “dangerous.” –
