“Pragati” is a Hindi word which means progress or development.  On March 10, 2014 the Pragati hall in Kochas was inaugurated by the District Superior of India, Sr. Dominic Mary, and was blessed by Fr. James Amakatt the V.G of Buxar diocese.

The ICM District team, priests, religious sisters of different Congregations, ICM sisters, neighbors, our women, youth and children honored the function with their presence.  After a meaningful Eucharistic celebration Sr. Dominic thanked everyone and honored the pioneers of Kochas community (Srs. Anto, Urmila and Rosammal) and all those who lent a hand for the building up of this Holy place PRAGATI.

Last year, two women of Manos Unidas, Spain, witnessed our hard work as we celebrated Women’s Day on March 10th 2013.  They observed our simple lifestyle in the little space of the rented house and our struggle to conduct training programs to our target groups.  Yes, for the past four years we had been using a rented house to empower women, youth and children.  Listening to our dreams for our people, they generously agreed to provide a Multipurpose hall.  Pragati is that dream which has come true.

We enjoyed a cultural program presented by Srs. Archana and Shalini, our ICM candidates from the North, our youth and women’s group. Nearly 500 people enjoyed the delicious meal. We thank our General Team and the present and the past District Teams of India for their support and encouragement.
